When I started making my Liberty version I was going to make all of my blocks Ribbon Stars. And it’s a choose-you-own-adventure pattern – you can make all of your blocks one star or another (Sawtooth or Ribbon Star) or a mix of both. The blue outside print is called Wiltshire Shadow in Indigo – available here.Īs you can see, this pattern includes two different inter-changeable star quilt blocks. Prints that I used for my borders: The teal-green inside border is called Festive Cheer – out of print, also from Liberty but I found a few listings on Etsy. I used a delicious woven brushed flannel plaid from my stash for the backing and this quilt is a good snuggler for winter months. It makes the quilt more of a “Winter” quilt than only specifically for Christmastime. I ended up going with navy and green borders/ backing, which I love. Complete with it’s own Liberty of London department store. I especially love the Yule Town print – snow falling on a darling English town. I love that this fabric gives the background a little more texture. You will need 8-12 Fat Quarters – depending on how many different prints you want in your quilt.įor the background fabric I used Riley Blakes Linen/Cotton blend in Natural. The prints that I used for this quilt are from the Festive Collection from Liberty – still available on Etsyor from You, Me & Mabel in the UK. Those are among some of my most nostalgic Christmas memories. I decided to name this pattern Sentimental Stars because these Liberty Christmas prints brought back so many sentimental memories of Christmases that I spent living in England. Isn’t it cool to see what how changing the fabric changes the entire look of the quilt? Here is the original Liberty stars version. The pattern is available free here when you sign up for my newsletter. And the colors work so well with a traditional star quilt!įabric requirements for this quilt are 3 ½ yards blue and 1 ⅝ yards white. I love how classic blue and white quilts are – they never go out of style. I’ve had a two-tone quilt on my “want-to-make” list for a while now and this was the perfect project! Dream is such a pretty warm/gray-green blue. The solids version is made using Riley Blake Confetti Cottons in the colors Dream (blue) and Cloud (white). And to share another two-tone solids version of the quilt design to show you how versatile this pattern can be! Well, I’m excited to ( finally) share the free Stars Quilt Pattern with you now. I finished that quilt a few months later and promised a pattern eventually. Some of you may remember the Winter Stars quilt that I started last year using the Liberty Festive Collection.
